PTE Results Delayed: Five-Day Checklist and Support Steps

Count working days correctly, check myPTE and email, and contact Pearson with the right details if your score is delayed.

3 min read

Pearson says Academic results are usually available within two days but can take up to five working days. A certainty or security review can take longer, and the delay does not predict whether the score will be high, low or changed. Follow Pearson's own working-day wording, check myPTE and spam, and after more than five working days contact support with the booking details. Pearson does not define a holiday jurisdiction on the page checked for this guide.

Check these items in order

  1. Confirm the test date and local time. Count completed working days after the test.
  2. Open myPTE directly. Go to My Activity and check the test record. The report may be available before you notice the email.
  3. Check spam and junk folders. Search for Pearson or PTE messages.
  4. Confirm the account. Use the email address connected to the booking. Do not create another account.
  5. Read any message from Pearson. It may request information or explain that a review is under way.

Pearson says some results take longer because they are flagged for additional review, including certainty or security checks. A delay alone does not tell you the outcome and does not prove that your score has been cancelled.

Worked example: count working days correctly

Ana takes a fictional test late on Thursday. By Monday morning, only a few calendar days have passed, so she does not treat Monday as the five-working-day escalation point. She checks My Activity and spam, then follows Pearson's stated working-day threshold rather than guessing which local holidays count. She does not book another test because Pearson's retake policy permits a new booking only after the last score has been received.

If the report is still missing after more than five working days, Ana prepares her booking reference, test date, centre and account email, then uses the official scoring support route. She avoids sending unnecessary passport scans in an initial message.

When to contact support

Contact Pearson when more than five working days have passed, the report is absent from myPTE and you have not received useful instructions. Use the official help centre, not a phone number copied from an unofficial social account.

Provide concise facts:

  • full name as booked
  • booking or registration reference
  • exam type
  • test centre and test date
  • myPTE account email
  • the date and time you checked the dashboard

Ask for the status and whether Pearson needs anything from you. Avoid submitting repeated requests while one case is active unless the official channel tells you to do so.

Protect an application deadline

Tell the receiving institution that the official result is pending and ask what evidence or extension it accepts. Only that institution can decide its deadline process. Do not send an estimated score.

Once the result arrives, follow the receiver's official sharing instructions. See when PTE results usually arrive for the normal access steps. If the score itself is disappointing, read the retake guide before making a rushed booking.
