PTE Results Time in 2026: Usual Wait and Next Steps

Know the usual PTE score turnaround, the five-working-day support threshold, where to check and when additional review can take longer.

3 min read

For PTE Academic, Pearson says results are usually available within two days and can take up to five working days. For PTE Core, Pearson says results are typically available within 48 hours and can take up to five business days. Pearson PTE Core FAQ These are ordinary turnaround and support thresholds, not a guaranteed maximum: additional review can take longer. Check the myPTE account used for the booking and build a buffer before any application deadline.

What the timeline means

"Usually within two days" is a typical Academic turnaround, while Core uses "typically within 48 hours". Neither is a guaranteed deadline. Pearson's scoring help says certainty or security review can extend processing beyond five working days. Do not promise a university, employer or migration authority that your result will arrive on a particular date.

Build a buffer between the test and any application deadline. The buffer should also allow time to read the report, share it through the required process and respond if the result needs additional review.

How to view your result

Pearson sends an email when the result is ready. To check directly:

  1. Sign in to myPTE.
  2. Open My Activity.
  3. Select the test.
  4. Choose View Score to open the Score Report.

The report includes an overall score and separate Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing scores. The overall score is not a simple average of the four skill scores. If an institution requires a minimum in every skill, compare each field separately.

Pearson's reports are digital. An institution verifies a result through Pearson's secure system, so a screenshot or printed PDF is not a substitute for the receiver's official verification process.

Worked example: plan around an application date

Ravi's fictional course application closes on Friday 30 October. He considers taking PTE Academic on Wednesday 28 October because results are often available within two days.

That plan has almost no margin. The result could take up to five working days, and the institution may need additional time to receive or verify it. Ravi checks the course rules, works backwards from the deadline and books an earlier appointment.

After his test, he checks myPTE rather than repeatedly refreshing his email. When the score appears, he compares every required field with the course criteria and follows the university's instructions for sharing it.

If five working days have not passed

Pearson asks candidates to wait when five working days or fewer have passed. Use this time to verify that you are checking the correct account and that your email address is current. Do not create a second account or book another test before your score is released.

If more than five working days have passed

Check spam and junk folders, then sign in to myPTE. If the report is not there and Pearson has not contacted you, use the Pearson scoring help and support route. The delayed-results checklist explains what to gather before contacting support.

Once the report arrives, compare every required overall and skill field before deciding the next step.
